<br>Probably the easiest way is through www.dejanews.com.

<br>It allows you to use a web browser, rather than the built-in newsreader or a stand-alone client, after a short validation process. The advantages are that you do not have to subscribe through the newsgroups through your university or service provider, you do not have to set up any kind of preferences, and DejaNews filters out almost all spam from their postings, so you can have a fairly pleasant reading experience.
