<br>(Washington Post, Feb. 3).  A number of its users characterize it as
<br>"show-biz language," "screenwriters' jargon," or the like.  It may be
<br>several decades older.  I'm not about to wade through the nine or
<br>ten inches of cites for _meet_ in our pre-C10 file that might or might
<br>not have an earlier instance of it.
