Hello, I am new to this group, and I am hoping to have two questions
answered by someone in this list- serv.
1st question:
Concerning the word "kind" and "kinds". I believe it is incorrect to use
the plural form in some instances. Can anyone please clarify the rules
concerning the use of either word, and give examples of both the correct
and incorrect useage.

2nd question:
Concerns modern american english. If one were to use a cronological
timeline, what is the period of time our present day english was
established? Are there solid rules establishing our current english
language, if so, what year(s) would these rules date back to?

Thank you in advance for your time.
