<br>Hello, I am new to this group, and I am hoping to have two questions

<br>1st question:
<br>Concerning the word "kind" and "kinds". I believe it is incorrect to use
<br>the plural form in some instances. Can anyone please clarify the rules
<br>concerning the use of either word, and give examples of both the correct
<br>and incorrect useage.

<br>2nd question:
<br>Concerns modern american english. If one were to use a cronological
<br>timeline, what is the period of time our present day english was
<br>established? Are there  solid rules establishing our current english
<br>language, if so, what year(s) would these rules date back to?
