There is SLANG DOWN THE AGES: THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF SLANG (1993)
by Jonathon Green.
There is also a recent book by Writer's Digest books that has new words
through the years--I forget the title, but I'm sure any issue of Writer's
Digest has something about their books.
For new American words year by year, there is also (Oh gee, what's that
book?) AMERICA IN SO MANY WORDS (1997) by David K. Barnhart and Allan A.
Metcalf.
All should be available within a few days through Amazon.com
