Subject: snail mail

Snail mail has a worthy antecedent in German Schneckenpost, which has been
around for at least 40 years. To my knowledge, the term refers not to
"normal mail" as opposed to email, but rather to any outrageously slow
means of transportation, e.g. the milk train.
