I realize this is more in the way of a reanalysis, but it's

My son, who will be five next week, asked me the other night

if I knew Nick Cardinal. I assumed it had something to do with

a preschool story. Yes, in part. "Owls," he told me, "are Nick

Cardinal. They sleep in the day."
