I suspect you are right about the overall popularity of "lite" brands of

cigarettes (not just Marlboros). Interestingly enough, my doctor, a former

smoker himself, dissuaded me from using the "lite" brands by telling me he had

analyzed the contents of some lites and discovered they contained a significant

quantity of cocoa leaves, which are more toxic than tobacco. He suspects the

leaves are added to compensate for the loss of flavor from "lite-ning" the cigs.
