DARE's entry uses "diffucalty" for the headword, with "defewgelty" and
"diffugalty" as variants. We assumed them to be variants of "difficulty."
Quotes are from 1958, 1960, 1978 (all oral or from private correspondence).

Thanks Ms. Hall, I wasn't that far off after all. The part of the word I
wasn't sure about was the 't' or 'd' sound at the end of the word. It appears
't' is the official phoneme.
