<br>  Language Arts teachers like those I have in an evening class; they
<br>  insist that it is their "duty" (flapped, of course, in their own
<br>  natural speech) to teach kids how to enunciate "properly," and they
<br>  feel personally attacked when I tell them it's not normal or necessary.
