I doubt that people would generalize a strange word like 'flaccid' to a

/ks/ pronunciation; rather, I would predict /s/ on analogy with 'acid,'

'lucid,' etc. Indeed, 'accept' is sometimes pronounced [[AT SYMBOL GOES HERE]sEpt]; the

African American educator Norma Stokes (correct name?) uses this

pronunciation in the video "American Tongues." The /s/ variant here

may be motivated by a distinction between 'accept' and 'except' though.
