Yes - Damon Runyon indeed had quite the voice. David Maurer blessed

Runyon's grasp of underworld lingo, and on top of that Runyon was not

shy in the coining department - original Runyon rhyming slang, words

enhanced by decorative and meaningless suffixes, slight twists of

meanings of words and expressions, double plurals, double past

particples, functional shifts, etc. etc.
