You can _approach_ c all you like, you just can't reach it.



According to the Star Trek Technical Manual, "warp n" means n^3 times

lightspeed. And they should know, since Star Trek invented the phrase--

outside Roddenberry's universe, "warp" means a distortion of space itself

allowing travel from point to point without going through the

intervening space.
