Well, but, scientific words the world over are coined from Latin and Greek roots--this is sort of the international language of science, right? Anyway, it seems to me that Latin (or even ancient Greek) is/are far more neutral than, say, selecting a Turkish word to describe the ancestors of an Armenian, or selecting a Hebrew word to describe the ancestors of an Arab (or vice versa). Since Adam and Eve spoke Dutch, obviously a Dutch word would be best.
