All humor aside this time. My wife and I represent different parts of

U.S. (n. Florida and n Illinois, respectively). We are both familiar with

half past seven, but would be morelikely to say seven-thirty. Half-past

seems slightly bookish and less normal to me; her feelings are somewhat

the same though more qualified.
