Thanks to Don Lance and Tom Clark for "dark-thirty." I hadn't heard

it in years, and then only from my dad. He was born in Humble, TX,

and grew up in Racoon Bend, TX, the son of an oil (say ALL) field

worker. He, too, was a lifelong employee of the oil industry, which

run their drilling rigs 24 hours a day. He also used "dawn-thirty,"

though I do not recall hearing "quarter to dawn."
