Thanks, Dennis, for plugging DARE with reference to _gaumy._ DARE is also

the place to go for _brigidy_. We entered it under the spelling _briggity_,

but have also found it spelled brickaty, brigaty, brigetty, briggidy, and

brigity, with the superlative bricketyest as well. It means

'self-assertive, conceited, headstrong,' and is found chiefly in the

southern Appalachians. We think it's probably a variant of biggity.
