In my paper at SECOL in November, I showed that "except after c" applies to

only eight

common words, seven of which are '-ceive" or "-ceit". How useful is that?



Presuming your 8th word was "ceiling", did you forget "-ceipt" (receipt) or is

that part of your "-ceive" group?
