The query about receipt reminded me that my great aunt used to say (and

write) recipe for that, and my mother would always comment when I noted

it that "a lot of people used to use that, but receipt is the more

'modern' form." Has anybody else run into that usage?

Hmm. I've heard of the opposite usage - "receipt" used for

"recipe" - and understood it to be very old-fashioned.
