I do not differentiate between "Don" and "Dawn" (but I don't differentiate

between "cot" and "caught" or "pull" and "pole" either). Actually, my dialect

has a rather limited number of vowels. This has caused significant problems

in trying to learn Dutch and Fries, which seem to have a lot more vowels than

they really need.
