I'm glad somebody clarified this. I thought maybe what was meant was

[fle[AT SYMBOL GOES HERE]g], with a diphthong that I've heard as a realization of /ae/ in,

e.g., New Jersey. [fle:g], or [flejg], on the other hand, really sounds

outlandish and I'm sure I never heard it. Do those who use it also say

[be:g] 'bag', [ge:g] 'gag', [le:g] 'lag' and [se:g] 'sag'?
