hear Luanne von Schneidemesser's paper, "Soda or Pop?", which she will be

giving at the American Dialect Society meeting in Chcago on December 30.

Her talk is based on extensive research, and therefore should actually

prove to be illuminating. See the abstract in the September NADS, whilch in

itself contains some informative stuff.
