Subject: Showing tapes dubbed from TV



Natalie,

    It's my impression, as least insofar as PBS shows are concerned, that

they can be copied off the air and used ONCE, rather like the restriction

on using copyrighted print material. We bought the MacNeil history of English

tapes for the department, but I prefer to use a dubbed copy that has been

edited to take out a lot of the fluff. However, since we bought the series,

I'm technically safe, if an inspector happened by.
