"In this week's report on women's earnings, Barron's Gene Epstein traces the term 'glass ceiling' to a March 1986 coinage in it sister publication, The Wall Street Journal. But a random walk down Nexis shows U.P.I. used it in May 1985 and quoted the term in March 1984--two full years before the Journal." I somehow think this term is much older. Barry? Anyone?
