Like Don Lance, I remember WIG OUT 'go crazy' from teen slang in the 1960s
and maybe even 1950s. I would look for it in movies like REBEL WITHOUT A
CAUSE and BLACKBOARD JUNGLE. My guess is that the source is NOT AAVE. I am
not anyplace where I can check the standard sources on this, but I imagine
that Jesse Sheidlower has something in his files on this.
