General Electric has been called Generous Electric with irony intended.

The Delaware & Hudson RR, commonly called the D & H, was the Dirty and Hot.

My father, whose stepfather worked on the railroad had a long list of

such names for the major lines in the northeast, but I can only recall the

local line.
