My sister was the only one I ever heard say "bunk your head" meaning hit

your head.

New Jersey. She was born 1925.

Oh my gosh. I've always used bonk in to mean hitting your head. "Don't

bonk your head on the doorway" or "They bonked heads when they bent down to

clean up the mess together." My mother always used bonk in this sense and

in no other context. I always wondered why my mother-in-law did a double

take when I told her that my little daughter got bonked on the head!!

Does anyone else have this usage? Please?
