Here a a few biblical references:



Romans 8:15ff

"...When we cry 'Abba! Father!' it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with

our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs..."



I John 3:1

"See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of

God; and so we are."





But contrary to these New Testament uses, my grandmother (a Norwegian Lutheran)

used to use the phrase "God's children" to mean "Jews" or "Isrealites."
