Subject: Students and "Ebonics"

I was delighted to learn today that some undergraduate students at the U

of TN are concerned about media bias and minisformation re ebonics. A

member of the Students' Speaker Bureau invited me to participate in a

panel discussion on the subject on 2/11. I am not free to be on the panel

at 7 p.m., but said that I would join later. I have been thinking about

ofering to give a presentation in Knoxville, and I have now decided to

offer to do one at the Knoxville Teachers' Center and also one on the

campus. What are others doing?
