<br>Northern part of Japan several times.  I, however, have never heard
<br>the stress of the word put on the second syllable: it is always put
<br>on the first.  When speaking English, it is usually my custom to put
<br>the stress on the second syllable, because it seems to be easy for the
<br>English speaking people to hear the word.
