It is a commonplace here in Green Bay for young women to call each other "you

guys," as in "You guys going to the Rat?" (the Rathskellar), both on the

university campus and in the public schools. My daughter attended St. Joseph's

Academy, an all-girls Catholic school, and this was very common in that context

as well (1985-1989). They never said "you girls" or "you gals" or "you women."

In addition, my daughter sometimes says "you guys" when talking to me and my

wife, as in "When are you guys leaving for David's graduation?" (although she

usually says "you" instead).
