Is "beaucoup" Cajun at all? It was in common use in Viet Nam in the sixties,

and I assumed it was just a GI borrowing, like "mama-san",

with no real language interference.

I had a roommate in 1970 who had lived in Arizona and Michigan. He said

bookoo for everything. I always assumed that he learned the expresson in

the Army while stationed in Korea for three years.
