Subject: Re: Piggin (Bucket)

Piggin(s) appears 7 times in LAGS, but I haven't checked the actual locations.

The term also appears in the New England atlas in the following places:

Barnstable, MA: Cultivated inf.

Beverly, MA: Cultivated inf.

Harpswell, ME: Storekeeper

Calais, ME: Engineer

Kurath notes (map 129) that the term is for "small, old-fashioned containers."

The mapped terms are only pail and bucket. Piggin doesn't appear on the map at

all.
