all four are /whUp/ for me, not to be confused with /whup/ (what daddy

does with the strap) or /wups/ (as in uh-oh).



i've been surprised to see so many people spell that last thing (oops,

uh-oh) as "whoops" in email. have their spell-checkers led them astray?

i've seldom, if ever, written it (though i've said it often enough) but

i assumed it should be "woops."
