good observation about Sarah's message in LANG. i had no idea linguists

were so careless and cavalier. hope the other sciences don't do this;

afraid they do. probably a result of academe's "publish or perish" pressure,

which rewards "productivity," and which, I blush to say, I have supported

enthusiasticaly most of my career.
