Subject: Jesse Jackson: nasal levelling?



When Jesse Jackson speaks, I think I'm hearing pre-stop nasals weakened,

and vowels before medial voiced stops lightly nasalized, so that medial

/d/ merges with /nd/. Is that a dialect feature -- and if so, what dialect

-- or is he just congested?
