A commercial just flashed past for Chlorox bleach. Several women (sexist)

commenting on the smell of bleach. One asks rhetorically, "Would I use more

if it smelt better?"



I found that interesting. You might expect to hear "smelt" somewhere back

in the hills, but not from the mouth of an obviously middle class woman in

a commercial made for national distribution. Yet it had to be intentional.
