I know "hot as toffee" my father used to make the toffee and we would

pull it. It was very hot as you began the toffee pull. I would put my

hands in cold water every few minutes.

"Hot as toffit" - Has anyone heard this of this expression? Attributed to

the New England area. Patron doesn't know if "toffit" is spelled this way

or some similar variation. Pronounced with a long "o".
