It will be my first time teaching this course. I am reviewing Pyles & Algeo and Baugh & Cable as texts; any other suggestions or any remarks on these two would be appreciated. I am particularly interested in supplementary reading suggestions and suggestions for video materials (other than 'Story of English', which I know about), and suggestions for small projects or related books for book report assignments. (Books should be easy enough for non-ling. people and linuistophobes.) If anyone would be willing to share a syllabus, or has a syllabus on the Web, I'd appreciate seeing that too. I will post a summary to the list. Thanks in advance!
