In response to another query in the NADS (are you getting all these

messages out there in DARE-land?), I've never heard the word 'key' for

maple and similar seeds. We called them as children 'whirlybirds' and I

guess I would still call them that today, if pressed for a term.

So-called because when you drop one from as high as you can reach, it

spins around like the propeller of a helicopter.
