Re Bethany's unrecoverable "recipe" (maybe that's where cobbler comes from,

something cobbled together on the spot): That's the way MY great-grandmother

did it, with a wood-burning oven, and why my great-aunt was asked my my

mother to watch her and write down what she did. I was too young to rememberr

what the originals tasted like, but the recorded directions produce an

excellent and, in my experience, unique result.
