Volume III of DARE will have an entry for "lavatory," but unfortunately only

for variant pronunciations of the term. We had 79 responses in answer to

the question about names for indoor toilets, but they were pretty widely

scattered. Perhaps we could have made a case that the term is less frequent

in the western part of the Midland, but it was pretty tenuous, so we left it

out. Sorry.
