Subject: Word frequencies



I have been using for some years _Word Frequencies of Spoken American

English_, by Hartvig Dahl, a Verbatim book distributed by Gale Research Co,

Detroit. It's probably out of date now since it's based on interviews

recorded in 1969. The book was published in 1979.

When OUP published the 2nd edition of the _Oxford English Dictionary_ a few

years ago, the editors mentioned in radio interviews that they had a list

of words by frequency of use.
