Rather than retaliate, they turned the other cheek by replacing the glass in the "WALK/WAIT" signal at a pedestrian crossing, so that it read "WALK" or "CHEW". Also, about mixing expressions, my brother used to ask (in the early 80s): "Is the pope Polish?" Roger
