We have 'pop,' 'soda,' 'soda pop,' and 'soft drink.' What about 'tonic,'

which no one has mentioned. Can anyone tell me the distribution of this

term, which shocked the first time I heard it from a New Hampshire native?

(To me, 'tonic' is medicine, and wouldn't be expected to taste good!)
