In eastern Kansas, where I was a kid, we always called the game of

piling on "dog pile". King of the hill for us involved an actual

hill or some lofty perch. The king of the hill was the person who was

able to claim the highest point and prevent others from reaching the

top by physical combat.



I always suspected kids in Kansas during the 60's were somehow

different.
