"Language for Time Travelers" by L. Sprague De Camp was published in

Astounding Science Fiction in 1938. The magazine (now called Analog)

might be ready for another article on the subject by now. If not, one of

the other science fiction magazines might be interested.

I think De Camp's article is most easily available now in _The Best of L.

Sprague De Camp_.

It was less inclusive than the title indicates; it concentrated on English.

Dan Goodman

I bet the DeCamp best known to ADSers is David. And I've wondered for

some time now, is there any relation between these two? Just how

common is the last name? (I've never heard it for anyone else.)

A quick check of the Web through AltaVista shows other De Camps --

including another David.

I suspect the two are distantly related.

Dan Goodman

(who is related to only two other Goodmans now living.)
