Subject: Re: inservice v.t.

Before I got into the education racket (ten years ago) I had never heard

inservice in any form. The noun, as in "We're conducting an inservice on

whole language teaching," (meaning what used to be called a teachers'

workshop) has been around at least that long. I wonder how many people

outside of education know about it?

I've never heard this use as a verb, but am not surprised.
