No. They're both [u] for me. I thought about "suture" earlier today as

one that I could *almost* pronounce with [ju] but then decided that I don't.

What is it about the s words that makes them different for me? I have [ju]

in many, many other words. Cats [mju] while cows [mu]. I sometimes find

doggy [du] in the [dju] on the grass. I read the [njuz]. Today is [tjuzdI].

I sometimes remember to use the [kjupanz] I've clipped. Etc.
