To my ear (not to mention my chagrine),
"sissy" carries with it the connotation
of a male homosexual, in the same way
that little boys are chastised for
throwing "like girls" or called "girly"
when they don't live up to tough guy
standards.
"Tomboy," to me, doesn't carry the
same properties.
Anyone else?
