Subject: Re: stay and live

So far we have: N.W.Indiana, S. Georgia, W. Tennessee, African American

English and South Africa. Add to that Lowland Scots. Stay for live was

the norm when I lived in the Glasgow area. I'm not sure whether it is

used in all areas of Scotland. Could there be some connection between

where it is found in the US and Scotch/Irish immigration to those areas?

Johanna.
